Specimen Requirements

No Specimen is required.

Ordering Information:

Each product is a prepooled concentrate of five individual units.  Expect a fibrinogen rise of 25-50 mg/dL in an average sized adult.

Transfusion Information:

1. Request cryoprecipitate only when transfusion for this product has been ordered. Thawing of a unit of cryoprecipitate takes approximately 30 minutes.  After thawing, expriation is 6 hours.  Volume is approxiamately 135 mL's.

2. Cryoprecipitate unit may or may not be the same blood type as the patient. 

3. Red Transfusion Service recipient armband not required.
