Test Code LAB941 - Only orderable by Transfusion Services Antibody Identification, Blood
Methodology
Note: This test is performed only by Transfusion Services when Antibody Screen, Blood (ABST) is positive.
Includes Antibody Screen, Blood (ABST) with possible antibody identification.
If consultation is necessary, report from consulting laboratory will be made part of patient’s record.
Additional charges will be added as deemed necessary by consulting laboratory.

Specimen Requirements
Draw blood in a large, pink-top (K2 EDTA) tube, and send 6 mL of K2 EDTA blood. (Clotted or hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.)
Note: 1. If consultation is necessary, draw an additional large, pink-top (K2 EDTA) tube and a plain, red-top tube. Send 6 mL of K2 EDTA blood and 10 mL of clotted blood.
2. Label specimen with patient’s first and last name, medical record number, date of draw, and phlebotomist’s initials.
