Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 24 hours of collection.

Submit a random urine collection in a plastic urine container (minimum volume: 5 mL).  Improperly labeled specimen, improperly collected specimen, specimen not received within 24 hours at ambient temperature, or specimen not received within 14 days refrigerated is not acceptable. Forward promptly at ambient temperature. If there is a delay in transport of >24 hours, send specimen refrigerated.
