Performing Laboratory and Testing Schedule

TidalHealth Peninsula Regional - Core Laboratory: Chemistry

Testing is performed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Schedule is subject to change based on time of sample delivery, holidays, instrumentation issues, and reagent availability.

Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube, and send 4 mL of EDTA whole blood refrigerated. (Clotted specimen is not acceptable.) Trough specimen is preferred. Minimum volume: 1.5ml.

Reference Values

5-20 ng/mL  Therapeutic range

Reference range applies to 12 hour trough specimens.

 

Pediatric Critical value (automatic call-back) <16 years old:  ≥25 ng/mL

 

Adult Critical value (automatic call-back) ≥ 16 years old:  >30 ng/mL
