Specimen Requirements
Submit 2 mL of abdominal, effusion, or peritoneal fluid in a plain, red-top tube. Sodium heparin is also acceptable. Maintain sterility and forward promptly. Do not use tubes containing EDTA or potassium oxalate/sodium fluoride.
Note: Indicate specimen source.
Reference Values
The reference interval for fluid creatinine is for the fluid result to approximate the serum creatinine level.
