Specimen Requirements

Submit an entire 24-hour urine collection in a plastic urine container. No preservative. Refrigerate specimen during collection, and send specimen refrigerated. Forward promptly to laboratory.

Note: Collection in preservatives is not necessary and may not be appropriate for some tests, depending on the preservative. If a jug with preservatives is submitted, consult a technical specialist or manager to determine if the sample must be recollected.
