Methodology
Includes blood indices, differential, hematocrit (Hct), hemoglobin (Hgb), platelet count, RBCs, and WBCs.
This test is also included in Hemoglobin Investigation, Blood (HIN) and Obstetric Panel (PNP and PTYSC).
Order this test only if differential and any or all of the above parameters are desired.

Specimen Requirements
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:
Capillary
Specimen must arrive in laboratory immediately after collection.
Collect blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) MICROTAINER, and send 0.5 mL of EDTA whole blood. (Clotted or hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.)
Note: 1. Indicate capillary blood.
2. Label specimen appropriately (capillary blood).
Venous
Specimen must arrive within 24 hours of draw.
Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube, and send 4 mL of EDTA whole blood. (Clotted or hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.)
Note: 1. Indicate venous blood.
2. Label specimen appropriately (venous blood).
