Test Code LAB2616 Prenatal Drug Screen

Methodology

Note: Peninsula Regional Laboratory does not do any employment or chain of custody drug screens.  For additional information regarding employment testing or drug testing that requires chain of custody, please contact Occupational Health at 410-543-7188 or PRMC Employee Health at ext. 4733. 

This is only a screening test for the following drug classes:  alcohol, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, fentanyl, opiates, methadone, oxycodone, and phencyclidine (PCP). If any of the screening tests are presumptively positive, confirmatory testing will be sent to Mayo Medical Reference Laboratories at an additional charge.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 24 hours of collection.

 

Submit 50 mL from a single random urine collection in a plastic urine container (conical centrifuge tube). No preservative. 

 

NOTE:  The entire 50 mL sample must be from one collection. Do not combine multiple collections in an attempt to achieve adequate volume.

AMPHETAMINES SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 1000 ng/mL)               

BENZODIAZEPINE SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 300 ng/mL)          

CANNABINOIDS SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 50 ng/mL)           

COCAINE METAB. SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 300 ng/mL)   

FENTANYL SCREEN: NEGATIVE (CUTOFF 5 ng/mL)            

OPIATE SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 300 ng/mL)                  

PHENCYCLIDINE (PCP) SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 25 ng/mL)           

METHADONE SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 300 ng/mL)          

OXYCODONE SCREEN:  NEGATIVE  (CUTOFF 300 ng/mL)
