Includes Complete Blood Count with Differential, (CBCD) and hemoglobin (Hgb) electrophoresis.

Specimen Requirements

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Capillary

Collect blood in 2 lavender-top (EDTA) MICROTAINERS.

Collect 0.5 mL of blood in each MICROTAINER, and send EDTA blood.

Send specimen refrigerated in original VACUTAINER.

Note:

1. Indicate capillary blood.

2. Label specimen appropriately (capillary blood).

 

Venous

Draw blood in 2 lavender-top (EDTA) tubes.

Draw 4 mL of blood in each tube, and send EDTA blood. 

Send specimen refrigerated in original VACUTAINER.

2. Label specimen appropriately (venous blood).
