Specimen Requirements

PlasmaDraw blood in a green-top (lithium heparin) tube is preferred; however a dark green-top (sodium heparin) tube is also acceptable.  (Serum and EDTA Plasma is not acceptable.) Spin down and separate 1 mL of plasma within 2 hrs.  Test within 8 hrs at room temp or within 48 hrs refrigerated.  Freeze if not tested within 48 hrs.
